How do I remove a customization we no longer use?

Issue / Question:

  • Do we have to keep every customization we have in Cargas?
  • How do I get rid of a customization that is no longer relevant to us?
  • We no longer want to maintain a customization, how do we remove it?

Environment:

  • Cargas Energy 2024.10 and Later

Resolution / Answer:

If you identify a customization that is no longer useful or that you don’t wish to maintain, you can request Cargas to remove it by asking to deactivate it.

  1. First, open the Cargas Energy Customization Center by navigating to Admin > Setup > Customization Center > Edit

  2. Locate the customization that you would like to deactivate using the top right search bar, next click 'Deactivate' under the Actions column.

  3. By clicking 'Deactivate' a new email will open up from your prefered desktop email program. If you do not currently have one selected a windows prompt will ask you to select one. 

    The system will automatically generate a ready-to-send email request to our Cargas Energy Support team for the deactivation of the customization. You’ll only need to click 'Send.' The draft will include the following information:

    1. To: Cargas' SupportCentral

    2. Subject: Deactivate Customization #: ____ noting which registered customization number is being selected

      3. Body: Please deactivate customization #: 3 - Print Invoices Covered By Auto Payment. for ________ Co.

    3. Feel free to include any additional information or questions for the support team, if necessary, and then Click, 'Send'
    4. A new Zendesk ticket will be generated for your request and assigned to the support team for review and follow-up.
