Dual LCR-II Meter - Configuration Guide

Issue:

  • How do I set up two LCR-II registers in a Dual Meter Configuration?
  • This article will help you configure two LCR-II registers in a dual meter configuration.

Environment:

  • Cargas Energy

Resolution / Answer:

The LCR-II register must also meet the minimum firmware requirements to be compatible with Mobile Delivery. The minimum required software versions are:

Motherboard Firmware
Old Board SR210 v4.02 or later (v4.13 recommended*)
New Board SR260 v2.00 or later

Nodes: The node setting on these registers will need to be changed.

  • Meter 1 will need to be changed to node 1 and meter 2 will need to be changed to node 2 .
    • Using these specific nodes is no longer a requirement with Mobile Delivery 2017 but is recommended for simplicity.
  • You can now select the node that Mobile Delivery 2017 uses in the truck setup.
  • For dual register configurations, it is required that the nodes on each register are unique.
  • The default node setting from the factory is node 250.
    • You can change the node setting by using a Lap Pad or by using a computer with Liquid Controls EZComand software.

  • On Both Meters: After you finish changing the nodes you will need to switch the J10 jumpers on both registers to the 485 position or the B position on newer control boards. This is necessary to communicate with the Mobile Delivery devices.
    • (This is a commonly missed step because the J10 jumper must be in the 232 position or A position to communicate with a Lap Pad.)

  • On Both Meters: The J2 and J3 blocks need to be rewired on the control board for a Laptop PC. Move the Red and Violet cable from 46 & 48 to the J2 block on 24 & 25. Disconnect the J3 block and leave it disconnected. It is not used in this configuration. (This is detailed in step 4 of LC's Mux Wiring document that is attached.)

  • The Multiplexer will need to have the jumpers configured for 'Laptop PC' (This is detailed in the LC's MUX wiring document that is attached.) (Multiplexer come factory set to use with LC's Lap Pad)
