Prerequisites:
There are three prerequisites that you need before getting started.
- You will need a way to power the printer when you connect it to the printer if you are not in the truck. You can get a standard AC outlet power adapter for the TM-T88 printers.
- You will need a USB Printer cable (USB-B cable). These come in USB-A and USB-C options.

- The Epson TM-T88v, Epson TM-T88vi, and Epson TM-T88vii all have different Utility Software. You will need to download and install the Epson Utility Software for your specific model TM-T88 printer and your specific operating system on your computer. Please make sure that you are downloading and installing the correct one for your model printer. The software for each is similar but does look slightly different.

Select your Operating System of your computer > Expand Utilities section > Find TM-T88v Utility software > Click Download
Steps:
- First connect the TM-T88 printer power and to a computer using the USB Printer cable. Then turn on power to the printer.
- Then launch the Epson Utility software that you installed for your specific model TM-T88 printer.
- When the Epson Utility software opens you will need to Add Port before connecting to the TM-T88 printer.
- Go to the USB tab and select a USB Port Number from the dropdown. Then click Communication Test to test the connection to the printer. If the communication test fails then try another USB Port Number from the drop down until you find your printer. Click OK after you find your printer and get a successful test to finish adding the connection port.
- Now you can select your port and click OK to connect to and configure your TM-T88 printer.
- *Note* - USB Port Numbers can change when unplugging and plugging back in. You may need to Delete Port and go back through steps 3 & 4 when switching printers or from time to time if you can't connect to your printer.
