MID:COM E:Count Meter - ATC Failure error

Summary:

The ATC Failure message is generated by the Mid:Com E:Count register and indicates a malfunction in the automatic temperature compensation system; when this occurs the register prints the error on the ticket, closes the valves, and stops the delivery. Have the truck taken to a truck shop for further diagnostics and repair.

Issue / Question :

My driver was pumping fuel and after a few gallons, the meter shut off and printed out a ticket with an ATC Failure. What does this error mean?

Environment:

  • Mid:Com E:Count meter

Resolution / Answer:

The ATC Failure message is coming directly from the E:Count register itself and is being printed by the E:Count as part of the meter block. This indicates a malfunction of the automatic temperature compensation. When this failure is encountered, it closes the valves and does not allow the delivery to proceed.
