How to get a Zebra printer to work with a Neptune E4000 meter

Environment: 

  • New Mobile Delivery
  • Neptune E4000
  • Zebra RW420
  • Zebra ZQ520
  • Zebra ZQ521

Answer: 

To get a Zebra printer to work with a Neptune E4000 you need to turn off the Printer Status Check setting.

*Note* The Printer Status Check setting does not exist on firmware versions higher than EA.01.16 . If the firmware version is higher than EA.01.16 then you must downgrade it.

*Warning* You will need to break the seal on the meter to enter the Weight's & Measure's calibration menu to turn off the Printer Status Check setting.

  1. First navigate to the Neptune main screen. You can keep pressing the Stop/Cancel button to back out all the way to the main screen.

  2. Remove the Calibration Screw on the left front side of the E4000.

  3. Place a small allen key in the Calibration Screw Hole.

  1. Press the allen key in to hold down the internal calibration button and press the Arrow > button to select the W&M option.

  2. On the Calibration screen use the Arrow > button to select the Misc option and then press the Start/Enter button.

  3. Press the Start/Enter button to navigate through the Calibration Misc menu until you see the Printer Status Check option. Then use the Arrow > button to select the OFF option and press Start/Enter.

  4. Press the Start/Enter button until you return to the Calibration Main Menu that you see in step 5. Then press Stop/Cancel button to return to the Neptune Main Screen.
