Cargas is currently developing an update to the Cargas Energy Salesforce integration so that the integration continues to work after the upcoming Summer '27 version of Salesforce. In the interim, there are changes your Salesforce Administrator needs to make to keep this integration working.
What's changing and when?
Salesforce is retiring SOAP API login(), the sign-in method the Cargas Energy Salesforce integration currently uses. Salesforce will fully retire it in the Summer '27 release, as explained in this official Salesforce help article. Your "Product and Feature Retirement Newsletter" emails from Salesforce should give the exact end date for your specific Salesforce instance.
Cargas is updating the integration to sign in with OAuth instead. This work is active and high priority. We plan to make the changes available well before the old login stops working. We will keep you updated on our progress and the deployment timeline as we finish the work.
Why are we making this change?
Salesforce is moving to a "secure by default" approach for how outside applications connect to its platform. The old username-and-password login doesn't meet that standard, so Salesforce requires integrations to switch to OAuth. Switching keeps your integration on a supported, more secure connection method.
What do I need to do?
Until the OAuth update is finished, your Salesforce instance must keep allowing the legacy SOAP login, and that may not be turned on yet.
Please have your Salesforce administrator create a permission set and assign it to your Cargas Energy integration user in Salesforce. Salesforce also documents these steps.
- In Setup, create a permission set, for example "Cargas Integration SOAP Login".
- Under System Permissions for the permission set, turn on "Use Any API Auth".
- Assign the permission set only to your Cargas Energy integration user.
This permission is temporary. When our OAuth update is ready, we'll let you know, and you can remove the permission whenever it's convenient.
